In 2005, Nike issued the Tinker Hatfield-designed P-Rod “J-Rod,” a crossover into Jordan Brand territory with ample elephant print and Jumpman logos.
Call it a comeback, call it an anniversary nod, but that shoe is coming back as the Nike SB P-Rod 9 Elite.
The grey upper and elephant print return nearly identical to the J-Rod, with Nike Air tongue tags subbing this time while the Jumpman hangs out on each heel. The Zoom Air-laden tooling is the major update, taken directly from the P-Rod 9 Elite.
This Jordan-tinged P-Rod is slated to release in Europe on December 12, but stay tuned for info on a U.S. drop soon.
