Though Michael Jordan wore Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” at the 1991 NBA All-Star Game, White/Infrared can be counted as the model’s debut look. For the first time in Air Jordan history, MJ’s game shoe featured a non-Bulls red accent, going with the bright pinkish “Infrared” across the midsole. Contrasted with the stark white upper, there’s no doubt designer Tinker Hatfield was making a statement about the Air Jordan line’s push beyond convention. This continued on the “Carmine” and “Maroon” 6, both of which also opted for alternate reds. Many pairs of the White/Infrared, including its 1991, 2010 and 2014 incarnations, can be found now via eBay.
