Part of spring 2016’s deluge of Air Jordan Legacy Collection releases, Air Jordan 5 Low “Alternate” imagines “what if” Michael Jordan had player exclusives to wear during his first stint with the Chicago Bulls. Certainly this sneaker would’ve been prime for the 1990 NBA Playoffs, when Jordan and the Bulls took the defending champion Detroit Pistons to game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. MJ wore his Black/Metallic Silver 5 mids throughout the ’90 postseason for home and away games, a pattern he likely would’ve followed with this black nubuck and red-trimmed low. We can probably guess that had he logged time in these, we’d be talking about a surefire classic. January 30, 2016 is the date penciled in for the AJ5 Low “Alternate.” We’ll update with new details and photos as they come available.
