Of the non-Bulls Air Jordan 1 original colorways, perhaps none stand out as much as the “UNC.” The light shade of blue is no coincidence, a clear shout to Michael Jordan’s three years as a North Carolina Tar Heel. No doubt Jordan would’ve loved to wear this colorway his rookie season, but the color clash with the Bulls uniform was probably too much to bear. And it’s not like he didn’t have enough trouble on his plate, with the NBA levying fines for his sneakers not hewing to the color uniformity rule. Jordan Brand is bringing the UNC 1 back in its original form for the first time since 1985; truly a rarity from the vault. Check some of the latest photos here and prep for the October 31st release date.
