One of the more unique inspirations in the canon of Air Jordan 1 colorways, the “Shattered Backboard” commemorates a forgotten moment in Michael Jordan’s history – his participation in a 1985 exhibition game in Italy, during which the freshly minted NBA Rookie of the Year torqued the rim just enough to pour glass on his competition. Jordan, of course, was simply executing one of his dunks, never expecting his then-195 pound weight would be enough to destroy the backboard. Good thing cameras were rolling (video below), and that Jordan Brand found a way to have some fun with the moment with this sneaker release, hitting stores tomorrow morning. Or now on eBay.
