Jordan Brand always has a special selection of footwear releases timed for NBA All-Star Weekend but now they have even more incentive to really turn it out – Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets just won the bid to host the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.
According to the Charlotte Observer, the awarding will be announced on Tuesday, making way for renovations at the 10-year old Time Warner Cable Arena to be completed in time for the All-Star Weekend festivities.
Charlotte last hosted the All-Star Game in February 1991 at the cavernous Charlotte Coliseum, original home to the Hornets from 1988 to 2002. The building was demolished in 2007.
The 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend will be held at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
