Getting married requires faith, courage, commitment and, well, looking good – those wedding photos last forever. And if you’re a part of the sneakerhead community, chances are you’re thinking about how wear sneakers to the big day while Franck Eggelhoffer and your better half are busy wargaming floral arrangements.

That’s where Air Jordan XI always comes in. A staple at proms, graduations, weddings and many other important gatherings, the XI and its patent leather has long been considered the standard for non-formal footwear as formal since its debut in 1995. And that’s part of the reason why this pair of custom XI Lows was created by Jake Danklefs to fulfill a groom’s request. As you can see, the shoes are completely blacked out with the tongue label strips crafted to display the initials of the bride and groom, interlocking wedding bands, and the wedding date.

In another XI wedding story from earlier this spring, Detroit Lions QB Matt Stafford and his fiancée Kelly took delivery of these matching Air Jordan XIs from teammate Eric Ebron to commemorate their big day.
