This Vintage Gear throws back to 1991 and the days of Air Jordan Flight Club. To herald the debut of Air Jordan VI, Nike printed a few different brochures with product shots advertising colorways and apparel that was being released at retail that season. In addition to the product introductions, Nike also included an application to sign up for Air Jordan Flight Club.
As you’ll see in the photos below, all you needed was $17, a postage stamp, and a pen to fill in your info to receive an Air Jordan bounty – t-shirt, membership card, poster, and the newsletters that started out as thin magazines and transitioned into high-quality booklets measuring about 6″ x 10″. Of course the Air Jordan Flight Club is long defunct, and hardly anyone anywhere prints product brochures anymore thanks to the convenience of the Internet, but it’s always great to check out relics from this era. You really get a sense of what it was like growing up at the time with all of this rad stuff readily available – fun and hype-free.
