As Jordan Brand ramped up retro goodness in 2007 with Black/Metallic Silver V, Brisk Blue III and Bred VIII, they simultaneously expanded a range of heritage-inspired sneakers like the B’Loyal, Trunner KO and the Ol’School, which is today’s Daily Jordan.

Ol’School functioned as a modern yet old school option intended for live balling as opposed to simply looking the part while running errands or kicking back at poker night. The throwback design elements were impossible to miss – supersized Wings logo, ankle reinforcement wraps and heel ribbing from Air Jordans I and II, carpet tongue patches from Air Jordan VIII, double eyerows from Air Jordan XVII. But the playability, delivered through an uncomplicated leather, nubuck, and heel Air Sole setup, was the star of the show. Ol’School was supposed to look and play like a shoe from the ’80s or ’90s, and so it did.

It wasn’t an instant sellout sort of sneaker but it had enough staying power to spawn an Ol’School line, numbered up to Ol’School IV, before taking a bow around early 2011.

Various colorways from each of the four models can be found now on eBay if you’re looking to switch up your court rotation.
