When it comes to Jordan retro sneakers, nearly half of the Toronto Raptors roster could stand and be counted. The team’s high impact players Amir Johnson, DeMar DeRozan and Terrence Ross each have repeatedly run in Jordan Brand sneakers like Air Jordan III, XIII, even XX over the last couple of seasons. Kyle Lowry has dabbled as well. But there’s another, much less talked about Raptor who has matched these guys in sneaker heat and that’s James Johnson.
Johnson’s a six-year veteran who brings about eight and four off the bench every night, and is always ready to do so with a pair of choice kicks. Last night’s road game in San Antonio saw Johnson break out one of his favorites in the Air Jordan XI “Concord.” His six points and two boards weren’t going to stave off the Spurs’ 117-107 win but he did his part – officially, to collect stats where possible. Unofficially, wear cool sneakers to keep folks like you and I chatting. Good work, JJ, keep it up.
