Spike Lee has been a filmmaker for the better part of 3 decades, producing 35 films over that span in any way imaginable. He helped usher in Jordan sneakers to mainstream media with his Mars Blackmon character and without him it could be argued that Jordan Brand wouldn’t be in the position it is today. The website Kickstarter is a tool used by independent filmmakers to fund their films and now Spike is using it to produce his latest work. The site asks for donations, and depending on the sum of your donations comes a different prize. At $500, the director is offering various autographed Nike sneakers that he’s worn over the years and with a $1000 donation comes the choice of five custom Air Jordan sneakers designed by Van Monroe. Head to the gallery to get a glimpse of some of Van’s work, check out the donation video below, and let us know if you plan on donating to the project.
