Vintage Gear: 1988-89 Chicago Bulls “West Side Story” Media Guide

Considering their 47-35 regular season finish, nobody expected the young Chicago Bulls to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals and challenge the Detroit Pistons to a hard fought six game series. Many will remember what came after Jordan’s struggles against the Bad Boys and his time under the guidance of coach Phil Jackson, but today’s vintage 1988-89 Media Guide is from the Doug Collins era. The painted illustration with a West Side Story theme features Jordan in the forefront wearing an artist’s rendition of the Air Jordan II Lows while Scottie Pippen is noticeably absent from the cover in lieu of Horace Grant and Bill Cartwright.
