Last week, Nike held a Black History Month event at Nike Portland in which select items were auctioned off for a good cause. Among the items up for auction was the Air Jordan V ‘Red Tails’. This sample was made in honor of the Tuskeegee Airmen, the first all-black aviation unit in the United States military. Their story was recently told in the George Lucas film Red Tails, which detailed the escort unit’s exploits during World War II. The Air Jordan V in question features a silver upper and midsole that is complemented by a red heel panel that has RT-A embroidered on it. The ‘Red Tails’ V went for $5,000 and is the only pair in existence. The Check out another look at the Air Jordan V ‘Red Tails’ after the jump and let us know what you think. via NarcelX.
