The Air Jordan 1 Banned has been a bit of an enigma, images of these have been floating around for a while but no release date has ever been given. We’ve seen them on the feet of celebrities but it seemed like they would never find their way to the general public. However, hopes were recently rekindled as a batch of the Air Jordan Banned 1’s went on sale at the MLK Nike Outlet in Portland, OR and at the Nike Employee Store in Beaverton. While many of the pairs were marked as b-grades, those who were lucky enough to snatch them before they sold out have reported no real cosmetic flaws. It sort of makes sense that such an elusive pair of Jordans would randomly pop up in Portland, the home of the swoosh. The Air Jordan 1 Banned has been praised for it’s OG colorway as well as the rare treat of the Nike Air logo on the tongue. In fact this Air Jordan deviates very little from the original Black/Red colorway, mainly through the flavorful treatment on the lining and insole as well as the light red X stamped on the heel area, representative of the ban the NBA placed on these when they first debuted on Michael’s feet. If you weren’t lucky enough to scoop these up from the outlet before they disappeared, check out the auction from *vnds* to make them yours. Also after the jump are more ebay listings for these Air Jordan rarities.
