Scottie Pippen, the long-time wingman of Michael Jordan and fellow six-time NBA champion, was honored with a bronze statue that featured a painted jersey, armband, and hair. The unveiling of the statue occurred during halftime of Chicago’s match-up against the Boston Celtics on April 7th, and will continue to be on display at the United Center for all of the stadium’s events. Pippen’s departure from Chicago wasn’t particularly friendly, as he had a rocky relationship with then Bulls GM Jerry Krause, but his return to Chicago was a welcome one as he was named by now-GM John Paxson as ‘team ambassador’. Pippen’s doing something right, because the Bulls are currently atop the Eastern Conference and look to add a seventh Championship banner this June. via Yahoo!.
