Very much the collector’s item now, the Air Jordan XVII Mule hit the scene in 2002 as Jordan Brand’s first shoe/clog/sandal. Though they didn’t get the sneaker world to do backflips of excitement, the idea was at least novel – make a cool shoe into an easy-to-wear casual slide. The Mule pretty much disappeared quietly in the months after it released, but in a way the Mule’s legacy lives on in the current batch of signature model Jordan Hydros – easily the most sneaker-related non-sneakers Jordan Brand has produced since 2002. Deadstock Mules are tough to come by but every so often a clean used pair will hit eBay. Reminisce with the XVII Mule below and stay tuned for more Daily Jordan.
