Air Jordan 1 released throughout 1985 in a couple dozen colorways, among which was a white and light blue “UNC” model that would’ve fit in just fine during Michael Jordan’s three-year career as a North Carolina Tar Heel. Jordan Brand is dipping into the archive to bring it back for fall 2015, not unlike their unearthing of the Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard.” No, the UNC 1 Mid with the Jumpman Air tags doesn’t count in the least.)
As this preview pair can attest, they got the bringback right. Leather, hue, logos, tongue tags – everything’s here. Air Jordan “1.5” is coming up on July 25 – a big, rare release in its own right – but those fans looking to put their money where it will yield the most cool factor might keep that cash clinched in hand until the Air Jordan 1 UNC hits on October 31. Enjoy the photos below and let us know in the comments where you stand on the UNC 1.
