We kick off the work week with a Daily Jordan look back at the Air Jordan 2 “Vashtie.” This Lavender/Deep Purple-Del Sol colorway, released on October 2, 2010, marked the first Air Jordan sneaker edition created by a lady for ladies, showcasing New York-based director, artist and designer Vashtie Kola at the controls. The result was a smooth greyish lavender nubuck-style leather finish, deeper hits of purple trim, metallic silver accenting along the midsole and embedded in the laces, and Violette shoe box paper shouting Vashtie’s creative label. The Vashtie 2 can also be counted as yet another Air Jordan that guys would’ve dealt with had they been produced in the appropriate size run. Alas, as Vashtie’s promo video below relates, this Jordan 2 was always ladies first. Check that along with some photos of the Vashtie 2 below, and if you have pairs of these in your collection, break them out and show us using the hashtag #jordansdaily.
