As a tribute to the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” returning this year as a Christmas season release, our Daily Jordan for Wednesday is a look at the 14 Low “Ginger,” another of the original colorways from 1999.
Officially tagged as Light Ginger/Black-White, this sneaker helped follow up the similarly hued Air Jordan XIII Low and established a sleeper Jordan colorway classic. Even Michael Jordan himself thought highly of the look, choosing the Air Jordan XVI “Ginger” for preseason games when he came back with the Wizards in fall 2001.
As mega-collector Dependable Jay explains, the XIV Lows you see here are slightly different variations. The one on the left is a salesman’s sample, the one on the right is the retail release. Sample sports a ginger suede that’s a shade darker than the retail yet features brighter ginger accenting along the tongue and heel insets.
Enjoy his photos here and stay tuned for more vintage Jordans here at Jordans Daily. You own these or other ginger J’s? Share your pickups and preferences in the comment section. Or if you’re feeling froggy, hit up eBay to fish for your own pair.
