Yesterday Phil Jackson turned 69 years old. The Zen Master won his first 6 championships as a coach of the Chicago Bulls, and one of his main duties was trying to utilize the talents of one Michael Jordan while spreading the floor enough to not warrant the harsh double and sometime triple-teams that the likes of the Detroit Pistons threw at MJ during the playoffs. Once he introduced the squad to the triangle offense, the rest was history, as they secured a place in the history books with 2 three-peat championship runs. Phil even had was a sneaker afficianado at one point, as he maintained his status on the sidelines wearing a pair of the Air Jordan 4. We have a video of his selection during the 1989 Eastern Conference Finals that you can check out after the click.
