In September 2002, Jordan Brand experimented with a retro colorway of the Air Jordan IX Low and the test proved to be a success as the ‘Pearl Blue’ IX’s were a hit when released. eBay seller poofyof101jumpmansneakers recently opened his sample vault for the world to see and we get a look at what could have been with the ‘Pearl Blue’ IX sample. The differences in the retail version and sample aren’t visible to the untrained eye but to a seasoned Jordan collector the contrast between the two is clear. The retail version had a university blue Jumpman logo and pearl blue eyelets whereas the sample as a pearl blue Jumpman and white eyelets. Take a look at the images in the gallery below and head over to the auction from poofyo101jumpmansneakers on eBay.
