The Air Jordan 11 became one of the more iconic sneakers in the Jordan Brand arsenal. In fact, when Tinker initially showed MJ his first sample, word has it that Mike couldn’t wait until the next season and instead laced up the patent leather beauty in a playoff series against the Orlando Magic against the designer’s wishes. But what if the sneaker had a leather build instead of that cordura mesh to contrast the patent leather mudguard? And what if one of the most recognizable outsoles had been given a more traditional look at the time? Today’s rare sample comes from collector Randy Fernandez, and gets an all black treatment which looks like it came form the early stages of development of Mike’s eleventh signature. What do you think? Stick with us for a full rundown of this rare find after the jump.
