Before becoming one of the best MCs in hip hop, Common was a ball boy for the Bulls from 1983-85 and his timing couldn’t have been more perfect. In a recent interview with TimeOut Chicago, the Chicago rapper/actor spoke on falling in love with hip-hop, the best places to eat in Chicago and probably the most interesting of all, what it was like to be a ball boy for the Chicago Bulls during Michael Jordan’s rookie year. Common recalled how Jordan was able to bend the rules, much like he did the Jordan Rules, of no music in the locker room by the end of the second exhibition game due to how good he was.
