Congratulations are in order for Carmelo Anthony, who took home January’s NBA Player of the Month award. After a rough start for the Knicks this season that saw a bevy of injuries lead to a team lacking in both chemistry and wins, January signaled a new beginning for the squad. Melo led the Eastern Conference in scoring at 28.7 points per game which helped the Knicks earn a 10-6 record including a 4 game winning streak to close out the month. On January 9th, they beat the Heat at home in a dominant 102-92 win over the Eastern Conference powerhouse and then on January 24th against the Bobcats, Anthony showed his Jordan Brand boss (who owns the Charlotte franchise) what he was capable of by tallying an NBA-season high and Knicks-franchise record 62 points inside of Madison Square Garden. What do you think of Melo’s accomplishment’s in January? Let us know in the comments.
