One of the more iconic images of Michael Jordan is of him being escorted off the court by Scottie Pippen, exhausted and hunched over as they head to the sidelines. That game 5 victory that wasn’t supposed to be – after all Jordan was sick (was it food poisoning or actually the flu – we won’t ever officially know) but it showcased MJ’s will to win. The game has become known as the “Flu Game” and his sneakers – the Air Jordan XII “Bred” even had a name change too. Now the original pair is headed to auction all because a ball boy got Mike some applesauce after the game to help him feel better. The bidding on the game worn gems – one of the more important pairs in the Jordan lineage – will start at $5,000. Hit the click to watch a video on the history of the pair and for more information head over to Grey Flannel Auctions.
