The Air Jordan 5 “Doernbecher” will release this Saturday, September 14th. The shoe honors its late creator, young Isaac Arzate, who tragically passed away during his collaboration with Nike Inc’s ongoing partnership with the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. His Air Jordan V features inspiring words dressed all over the ubiquitous black upper that has a shiny iridescent finish, while the ’23’ heel stitching is replaced with Isaac’s sports numbers of 9 and 31. The inner tongue lining honors its late creator in truly special fashion, and there’s more to this shoe than initially meets the eye as it glows bright blue when hit with a UV light (this Air Jordan V will come accompanied by a special flashlight). Head to the gallery to get a better look at Saturday’s release and know that the Air Jordan V “Doernbecher” will be available only through twitter RSVP and at select Nike retailers.
