Who is Johnny Kilroy? We’re sure plenty of folks were pondering that question when word first hit of the Air Jordan IX ‘Johnny Kilroy’ edition set to hit us in October. The name was an alias dreamed up as an alternate identity for Michael Jordan, a fictional character put forth in a TV ad for the Air Jordan IX. That silhouette came right after MJ’s first retirement, and the accompanying campaign featured Steve Martin as an investigative reporter digging up the facts that seemed to suggest that Johnny Kilroy really was Michael Jordan in disguise.
The promo push went pretty far, with Upper Deck even printing a Kilroy trading card pictured here. Hit the jump for a look at the upcoming ‘Johnny Kilroy’ Air Jordan IX’s as well as the original ad campaign that brought the character to life, and stay tuned to Jordans Daily for more updates regarding the upcoming Air Jordan IX ‘Johnny Kilroy’ that is set to drop in December.
