The 2011-12 NBA season officially kicked off today with Michael Jordan’s former team, the Chicago Bulls taking on the Los Angeles Lakers in one of the five games scheduled. Twenty one years ago today, Michael played on Christmas Day against his bitter rival, the Detroit Pistons. The Jordan Rules had been a pain in Michael’s backside for the last couple of seasons, but on this day Michael would leave coal under the Pistons’ trees with a performance to remember. By game’s end, Jordan had scored 37 points, grabbed 8 rebounds along with 3 assists to put Detroit on notice that the Jordan Rules had become null and void. Check out the highlights of the game after the jump and let us know what you think.
