North Carolina football is going full Jordan Brand in 2017. Beginning next season, the Tar Heels will switch from Nike to Jumpman branded uniforms, connecting another team from Michael Jordan’s alma mater to his massive namesake brand. UNC signed a 10-year contract with Nike in 2009, which is still active and allows the school to change brands underneath the Nike umbrella, much like Nike’s recent deal with the University of Michigan. The UNC jump is also expected to trigger new apparel for the team at retail.
