Air Jordan 15 marked a new direction for Jordan Brand in 1999-2000. It was the first post-Jordan era signature shoe, and designer Tinker Hatfield’s last of a run he began in 1987 putting together Air Jordan 3.
The result is perhaps the most polarizing design in the Air Jordan line – narrow lines, woven upper, oversize Pebax heel counter, and a tongue that literally stuck out like Michael Jordan’s. The original Obsidian colorway shows off these details best, providing a stark contrast of navy blue and white.
Never before retroed, Air Jordan 15 “Obsidian” is back this Saturday at $190. Catch the shoe up-close below.
