As one of Team Jordan’s founding members, Ray Allen has laced up some of the greatest Air Jordan player exclusives ever created throughout his stellar career. The NBA all-time leader in three-pointers made recently spoke to Nike.com about one of the most notable sneakers he ever wore, Air Jordan XVI.

Allen wore the Wilson Smith-designed signature during the 2000-01 season with the Milwaukee Bucks, putting multiple colorways on the floor as he led the Bucks to the full seven games of the Eastern Conference Finals against Philadelphia. He brought the shoe back in a white-based linen/red colorway during his stint with the Miami Heat, sparking intense interest among his teammates.

“The last time I wore the XVIs was my last year with Miami. When I came into the locker room and everybody saw me with them on, they just…everybody put in their orders. Everybody was like, ‘I’ve got to get a pair.’ And then I had the green XVIs that I wore for Christmas. Once everybody saw those, they went crazy.”
