Michael Jordan Finally Gets Qiaodan To Back Off Using His Identity

Michael Jordan’s years-long battle against Qiaodan is over, and MJ won. China’s top court issued a ruling Thursday that the Chinese sporting goods company must stop using two Chinese characters that represent the company’s name.

After losses in lower court over the years to reclaim his identity, Jordan was happy.

“Today’s decision ensures that my Chinese fans and all Chinese consumers know that Qiaodan Sports and its products have no connection to me,” Jordan said in a press statement.

Reportedly, Qiaodan will respect the ruling yet enjoy its current trademarks, which include a logo silhouette of Jordan from his Chicago Bulls career. A lawsuit over the use of Jordan’s name is pending.
