Michael Jordan’s rookie cards are pulling in big bucks lately. Though the trading card market has ebbed much of the last 20 years, select pieces like Jordan’s have actually skyrocketed in value. As reported by ESPN’s Darren Rovell, it’s even driving up prices for whole sets, with a complete box of 1986-87 Fleer selling at $70,000 in October followed by one going for $50,000 last Thursday.

The card is making waves when sold individually, too. A 9.5/10 rated 1984-85 Star example blew out eBay for $165,000 just three weeks ago, while another went for for $100,000 in 2011. In solid condition, the card has fetched $4000 as well.

Aside from Jordan’s game-worn sneakers, there’s simply no other MJ memorabilia as hot. If you have old stashes of cards from the ’80s anywhere, be alert.
