Before its retro release in August 2014, Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” landed in 1991 as one of five original colorways.
Along with the White/Infared-Black, Black/Infared, White/Carmine-Black and Off White/New Maroon, the Sport Blues helped set a new tone for the Air Jordan line with looks that worked on-court as well as off-court for the growing sneakers-as-fashion crowd. Crisp white full-grain leather was paired with a black Neoprene tongue, flourishes of bold blue on the midsole, and body color Nike Air branding that designer Tinker Hatfield was moving to phase out of the Jordan line.
