Though 2015 marked the 30th anniversary of Michael Jordan’s Nike history, Jordan Brand has extended the recognition into 2016 with the release of instant sellout Air Jordan 1 “Banned” and now the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe” colorway.

Dubbed as White/Black-Gym Red for the 2016 release, Black Toe 1 served as one of the core colorways in 1985. It was on MJ’s feet for select games throughout his NBA Rookie of the Year season, and was a focal point of the initial Air Jordan 1 advertising. The layout is closely tied to the very well-known “Chicago” edition, with black leather subbing in along the eyestay and, of course, the toe. Nike Air logos on the tongue also are flipped from red on the Chicagos to black here, giving the shoe a slight but wholly different identity that resonates with Jordan fans to this day.

Jordan Brand is including a choice of red, white and black laces for this release, allowing everyone to put his or her style stamp on the shoe. Release is scheduled for November 5th at a retail of $160. Find official images below.
