The Neymar x Jordan Brand Collection captures the collaborative vision and mutual respect of two of the world’s most loved athletes.
Neymar, who grew up a fan of Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand, is the first soccer star to field his own Jordan signature product. The focus centers on the Nike Hypervenom II cleat and training shoe, as well as Air Jordan 5 Low – Neymar’s favorite Air Jordan shoe. Michael Jordan returns the admiration as a fan of Neymar’s on- and off-field style and approach, making the new venture a natural fit.
As with any Jordan Brand collaboration, the design is in the details. That’s what Nathan VanHook, Nike Football Senior Design Director, worked to execute with just the right balance. On the Air Jordan 5 Low, “Neymar” is stitched on the inside of the tongue, while the Hypervenom cleat features the AJ5 Low’s all-over reflectivity on its oversize Swoosh logos. Cement print – another Air Jordan hallmark – fills in the Hypervenom’s soleplate and Jumpman logo, while the initials of Neymar’s son – “DL” – are printed on the laces along with iconography of the Brazilian flag. Neymar’s number 10 is placed on the outside of the left boot at his request, while Jordan’s famous 23 appears on the right boot – both in the fonts of their original jerseys.
Neymar will wear the NJR x Jordan Hypervenom boot on the field in August. Fans can purchase the NJR x Jordan collection starting June 1st in youth and adult sizes via Nike Football app raffle, as well as on Nike.com starting June 3rd.
