Among the first non-OG retro colorways that Jordan Brand ever produced, Air Jordan 5 “Laney” hit a home run with fans by nodding to Michael Jordan’s high school days. It was at Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina that MJ went from an under-six-foot player cut from the varsity team to a Division 1 college recruit and eventual champion at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. The blue and gold of the Laney Buccaneers provided a great color combo for AJ5, complete with tumbled leather and the stitched 23 on the side. Jordan Brand has released these twice – 2000 and 2013 – and both editions are still available on the resell market. Check eBay now for your size.
