A quick glance at the Jordan section on Nike.com makes one wonder – are there just too many sneakers nowadays and not enough time/money?

A few months ago, Jordan fan consensus couldn’t have believed that an Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” or Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” with Nike Air would still be sitting on shelves – actual and virtual – in popular sizes. Which is what’s going on right now.

Think about the money crunch angle, if you were to buy one pair of all the hottest Air Jordans released August through December:

Air Jordan 6 Low Chrome ($175), Air Jordan 14 Low Laney ($170), Air Jordan 1 High OG UNC ($160), Supreme x Air Jordan 5 (at least one at $198), Air Jordan 13 CP3 ($200), Air Jordan 8 Aqua ($190), Air Jordan 6 Maroon ($220), Air Jordan 11 72-10 ($220), and Air Jordan 8 Chrome ($190).

That’s $1723 spent at retail – not including any tax nor shipping charges – in just four months. And that’s not even counting other Jumpman kicks like Air Jordan 9 Statue, Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle, Air Jordan 13 Doernbecher, any of the 1.5s, Westbrook 0s and CP3.IXs, nor any other Nike products like LeBrons, KDs, Kobes, and basketball retros.

No wonder Aquas and Maroons are waiting for good homes. Even discounts.

And don’t expect this trend of Jordans falling by the wayside to dry up any time soon. We still have Nike Air versions of Air Jordan 4 White/Cement, Air Jordan 5 Black/Metallic Silver, and the other bangers Jordan Brand has planned for 2016.

So, the answer to the question up top is really to ask another – would you rather have more easily accessible availability and have to pass on certain Js, or do you prefer the old way of more exclusivity and more difficulty purchasing?

I think the retro craze my b on a decline. The retro craze was slowly rising starting around 07-08 and the peaked at the end of 2011 with the air Jordan 11 Concords and stayed up there through 2012 2013 and 2014 but now in 2015 for the first time is starting to decline I remember back before the 2011 Jordan 11 Concords when they were still doing midnight sneaker releases u didn't need to wait up u could go to bed wake up the next day go on line and they would still have the retro available in my size no problem on Nike footlocker champs etc...... Then after the 2011 Christmas Concord 11's u could b on the second the shoe released to find the retro sold out in every size. So to answer the question YES I think this is a GREAT thing
