Sneaker Con rolls through Chicago this Saturday, and they’re doing it up big with yet another special event. Michael Jordan‘s “Flu Game” will be screened in its entirety, allowing fans to relive one of the most exciting performances in sports history.
It was during this 1997 NBA Finals Game 5 that Jordan overcame flu-like symptoms (later suspected to be food poisoning from a local pizzeria) to score 38 points, including a clutch three-pointer to close the game, 90-88. The gutsy effort tipped the series 3-2 to the Bulls, who then wrapped up the title in Game 6 in Chicago. Jordan, fighting nausea, lightheadedness and dehydration, played 44 of a possible 48 minutes to secure the victory.
