Jordan Brand today announced the Melo M12, the latest signature shoe for New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony.
According to the brand, M12’s inspiration traces to a Baltimore rec center dubbed “the dungeon,” where Anthony spent many hours as a youth shaping his game.
Anthony’s journey from those early years to his stature as an NBA All-Star are reflected in the M12’s design elements. The shoe focuses on a lightweight upper, asymmetrical lacing, a modified mid-cut ankle height, and a slimmed platform to match Anthony’s minimalist approach to the game.
Under the hood, four foam pads provide extra cushioning around the foot, while two Zoom Air units and Jordan Brand’s FlightSpeed plate handle the energy return.
Jordan Melo M12 releases January 2 for $160, with additional colorways on the schedule for Spring 2016.
