Air Jordan 3 and its elephant print detailing have held iconic status in all walks of fashion since hitting the scene in 1988. Now, the famous design continues that transcendence as livery for the “Act on Climate” national bus tour, an effort to raise awareness on the effects of environmental change on communities of color.
The all-over patterned bus is the brainchild of Grammy Award-winning artist Malik Yusef. Inspired by the Air Jordan 3, Yusef designed the bus’s aesthetic layout, as well as the red silhouette logo that pays homage to his younger days in inner city Chicago. The theme of the logo is “rising from the concrete” to achieve.
