adidas will pay James Harden $200 million over the next 13 years to be the face of the brand’s basketball division. And with bank like that, you’d think the Houston Rockets star would be a walking billboard for the 3-Stripes at every opportunity. Well, excepting the time he stepped out in a pair of Air Jordan 5s over the weekend to catch a movie with gal pal Khloe Kardashian.

From the photo, it’s clear Harden made no attempt to shroud the reflective tongues of his Black/Metallic Silver kicks, leaving onlookers to wonder whether or not the adidas higher-ups are collectively facepalming, and why exactly adidas hasn’t gotten this guy some Yeezy Boosts (or at least Tubular x Primeknits).

Harden’s adidas contract activates on October 1, so he’s still got a couple of weeks to indulge his inner Jumpman. That is, if adidas hasn’t already put a gag order on his feet.
