Conventional sneaker wisdom says to build on what works rather than overhaul everything for trend purposes. The Jordan Flight Flex Trainer 2 seems to embrace that prescription. So, what worked on the first Flight Flex Trainer? The Flight Flex sole, the ventilation, both of which have carried over to the new shoe. But Jordan Brand apparently saw fit to ditch the running shoe upper for more of a crosstraining style, since that is the shoe’s forte. They also got rid of the one-piece sock fit and went with a traditional tongue-and-vamp combo, presumably so that the laces can cinch more effectively. The new midfoot strap assists lockdown, too, and ventilation has been reconfigured to be a bit more specific (keep more water out during dewey jogs and looks more interesting?). If the first Flight Flex Trainer didn’t get you, the Flight Flex Trainer 2 just might woo. Available now.
