Happy Silver Anniversary to Michael Jordan’s 63-point performance against the Boston Celtics during the ’86 Playoffs. MJ dropped 49 points in a magnificent Game 1 performance, and followed that up with an encore presentation of 63 big ones against a team that wanted nothing to do with the second-year player on defense. The Celtics still won that game and eventually knocked the Bulls out of contention, but the world stood still to witness a rising superstar that Larry Bird compared to God. Just two years ago, Jordan Brand honored MJ’s 63-point milestone by releasing the Air Jordan 1 ’60+’, which featured two pairs of the Air Jordan 1 in the original Black/Red colorway as well as a Celtics inspired Green/White/Black version. via ChicagoTribune / Turner.
