Nikestore Cancels Midnight Releases

Nike continues to rework their system of launching sneaks, following up their revamped Twitter RSVP plans with another announcement that will change the way you cop your favorite pair. As announced last night, they are making midnight releases a thing of the past, with product now going live on the Nikestore website no earlier than 8AM Eastern/5AM Pacific. No new official time has been posted yet, but stick with Jordans Daily for that info. Nike Store Plans Twitter Launch for Future Releases

With each subsequent retro Air Jordan release massive crowds and never ending lines seem to be more and more accepted as the norm. Even internet avenues have struggled with the traffic at times, with the recent Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ release taking down Nike’s webstore for the better part of the early morning. Looking ahead Nike is planning a new launch system for big ticket items, a first-come-first-served system via Twitter that will have customers securing their pair online to be picked up at a brick and mortar . In addition, Nike has informed retailers that midnight releases have been cancelled, and that big-ticket sneaker releases should be determined via raffle/lottery.
