NBA 2K12 hit retailers yesterday to rave reviews from critics who thought it was impossible to top NBA 2K11 which was hailed as the best basketball game of all time. Michael Jordan recently sat down with Jon Robinson of ESPN to discuss the game. Michael touched on how much of an influence he had in the making of the game specifically his likeness which he wanted to be as real as possible. During the interview he also mentioned that it was right to put Scottie Pippen among the 15 legends in the game because he couldn’t have won a championship without him. Michael Jordan is back for 2K Sports’ latest NBA 2K game, NBA 2K12 and this time he’s not alone. Along with Jordan are some of the greatest teams in NBA history and in this latest commercial Mark Cuban, Drake, Brian Wilson and Jordan himself give their opinions on what was the greatest team of all time. 2KSports announced a few weeks ago that Michael Jordan would grace the cover of the 2K basketball series once again after the success experienced by last year’s NBA 2K11. Yesterday, 2KSports debuted the NBA’s Greatest Reveal trailer and in it Jordan is shown in  dunking from the free throw line much like he did in the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest. Unlike the ’88 contest, he is wearing the Air Jordan 1 instead of the Air Jordan III. He will be joined by Julius Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, rivals “Magic” Johnson and Larry Bird as well as other legends yet to be named. One year after being the face of 2K Sports for NBA 2K11, Michael Jordan will once again grace the cover of the latest NBA 2K title, NBA 2K12. NBA 2K11 received nearly universal acclaim and is widely regarded as one of the greatest sports video games of all time. Since its release in October of 2010, it has sold over 5 million copies worldwide much of which can be attributed to Michael Jordan being in the game. Jason Argent, vice president of 2K Sports, was vague as to if the Jordan Challenge would find its way onto 2K12 but noted that they have to raise the bar and exceed what they had done last year. Michael Jordan won’t be alone on the cover of NBA 2K12 as fierce rivals Magic Johnson and Larry Bird will also have their own covers.
