While Dwyane Wade has been wearing the Heat themed colorways of the new Jordan Fly Wade 2 EV on the regular in the playoffs, it’s not likely that this ‘Cool Grey’ version will pop up on feet due to NBA uniform guidelines. The first round of the NBA Playoffs lined up in such a way that one of Jordan Brand’s marquee names had to fall to another. The one to go down was of course Caremlo Anthony along with his New York Knicks, falling to Dwyane Wade and the Heat in a series that saw their two signature sneaks put to work in their post season colorways. Along with the Jordan Melo M8 and Jordan Fly Wade 2 EV the rest of our sightings have a similar contemporary lean, with players perhaps switching out the retros for more modern performance based models. A little over a month ago we already had a good idea of the foundation for what would be Jordan Brand’s May 2012 releases, but as you should know by now they can be a bit opaque with their schedule. Filling in the gap is this new crop of official shots, which cements the retros on their way like the Air Jordan XI Low, Air Jordan XII, and Air Jordan IV, but also adds some newer end models to the mix including the Jordan Blazin’ and the Jordan SC-2. As luck would have it the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs that gets started today will see two of Jordan Brand’s most celebrated warriors pitted against each other. Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony of the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks, respectively, will get their series going at 12:30 EST tomorrow with home-court advantage going to the former. As of late Melo has been performing at an arguably more elite level than D-Wade, but then again Wade has a stronger squad behind him as evidenced by their 2 seeding the the Knicks’ 7.
