This Air Jordan 1 remix continues its 2012 run into August, with two slick colorways recently popping up. One is a rather OG looking pair that we’ve seen teased for a couple of months now, the latest in a string of Bulls-colored not quite Air Jordan 1′s in this year. The other is a muted black, pushing the casual silhouette even further onto the subtle side. Over the past couple days we’ve dropped a couple of updates regarding the officially revealed Jordan Brand plans for September, but now its time to round out the group with a complete look at the models filling in the gaps between flagship drops like the Air Jordan 2012 Lite and retros like the Air Jordan VII. It’s quite the somber bunch, with the colors being punched down a notch and a number of models caught up in wine colors from Bordeaux to port. While not a straight up low version of the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan Retro V.1 is about the closest thing we’ll get for the time being, with the silhouette chopped down in height and tweaking a few details like the laces and the back branding. Arriving in stores now is this colorway, one of the closest to the OG looks we’ve seen to date for the model. Surrounding a big retro release its not uncommon to get at least one other Jordan Brand model outfitted in whatever look is hitting said retro. This time around we’re apparently getting a two-for-one, with the Air Jordan IV ‘Military’ having already made its way to the Air Jordan Retro V.1 once before and apparently having another go at it with this opposite looking pair scheduled for a July release. It’s sort of inevitable that the Dave White x Air Jordan team up will most likely be remember most for the pair of Air Jordan 1′s that eventually hit retail, rather than the auctioned off gold enhanced pair that got it started. Cornerstone of the custom scene Mache hasn’t forgotten though, whipping the Air Jordan Retro V.1 into a reiteration of that crazy rare package, even sprucing them up a bit with real gold leaf on the front end. If this Air Jordan Retro V.1 has any analog in the non-Jordan Brand world it’s gotta be the white on white Air Force 1. Both are perfectly milky, hit at the right height for jeans or shorts, and serve as quite the diverse go-to summer sneaker. Yep, the official shots keep pouring in. You didn’t think we were going to bring you all those updates and leave you hanging for the month of June did you? Of course not.
