NBA Jordans on Court: The Best of the 2013 2014 Pre Season

The NBA season kicks off tonight with some marquee match-ups, but this pre-season served as a commemoration to players’ need to wear the freshest kicks on the planet. The league is now loaded with young talent, and players proved that they are more sneaker savvy than any previous generation. The likes of unknowns like Quincy Miller brought out the Air Jordan 11 “Cool Greys”, Air Jordan III “True Blues”, and of course the Air Jordan 5 “Tokyo 23″. The Pistons and Raptors renewed a Central Division rivalry as well by seeing who could rock the better Retro Jordan. While signature athletes will start wearing their new models (or will Melo still lace up the Jordan Melo 1.5 Retro he wore throughout these exhibition games?) we now know who to be on the lookout for in terms of role players. So hit the gallery to get a full recap of the very best Air Jordans worn during the pre-season and be on the lookout for all of our Jordans on Court coverage for your 2013-2014 NBA season.

Air Jordan III: “True Blue” – Copper Sample

Air Jordan III: “True Blue” – Copper Sample

While the blue does indeed stay true on this pair of Air Jordan III samples, some of other parts of that equation do not. Namely the typical red sections on the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’, swapped out here in favor of copper for a Washington Wizards look. The same pair was created in Michael Jordan’s size as a PE during his time with that team, this one reportedly created for an employee at the time who had to have the same. Click through to check out the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’ with the copper tones and bid on this super rare sample now from dgoldmj2377z0 on eBay.

The Daily Jordan: Air Jordan III True Blue 2001

Yeah you picked up the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’ from last year’s retro, but how far back does your collection go with that specific colorway? Before the international release from 2009 was this back in 2001, one of the first of the Air Jordan III’s to feature the Jumpman on the back. The box from that go around also came with an interesting little internal fumble, with the box tag not separating the two colors making up the sneaks. Click through to check out the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’ from over a decade ago and add this vintage pair to your lineup now courtesy of thecoolshoeshine on eBay.

Air Jordan III: True Blue Unreleased 2000 Sample

Now your ‘True Blue’ Air Jordan III’s just don’t seem as true to that hue as they could be huh? This sample, an outtake from 2000, sports more color on the sneaker than any of the released versions, tinting the infamous elephant print with that look. Do you think they could have been a hit given a retail release or were they better left on the cutting room floor? Air Jordan III: True Blue Nike Air Force 1 Sole Swap

There comes a point in a sneakers lifetime when the model is just beyond repair, a sight we’ve seen plenty of times when the whole sole begins to crumble. This one sees a 2001 pair of the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’ shaved of its original sole, cleaned up quite a bit, and replaced with the iconic Nike Air Force 1 style on bottom. Click through with us to check out the stunning before and afters and let us know if you’d rock a makeover like this. Photos: kenlu

This time around he busted out an OG colorway, the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’, while putting in some community service for Bing’s Summer of Doing event.
