Earlier this year, Ray Allen hit his 2,561st three pointer to pass Reggie Miller for first all time and became the three point king. Jordan Brand commemorated the achievement by releasing the Air Jordan XIIIs he wore during the game. JB also marked this milestone by putting together an Air Jordan 2011 PE that features a gold mudguard with green accents as well as a gold translucent outsole. Ray Allen’s logo is featured on the gold tipped tongue in addition to the number of three pointers he sank. Unfortunately for collectors and Ray Allen fans, these will never release. Upon the Air Jordan 2011s first reveal, many Jordan heads instantly compared it to the Air Jordan XI. Its not hard to see why as both have similar design attributes and versatility. More of those comparisons will be made now with the sighting of the Air Jordan 2011 ‘Carbon Fiber’ which was worn by Andre Doxey, a Jordan Brand designer. The Air Jordan 2011 has brought back life into the Air Jordan signature line and Jordan Brand hopes that this continues with the Air Jordan 2012. Until the release of the 2012, which is unknown at this point, we can take a look at a promo colorway of the Air Jordan 2011. This promo sample is similar to the first colorway of the Air Jordan 2011 but Varsity Royal replaces the black seen throughout the shoe. Additionally, the translucent sole is speckled unlike the release version. The Air Jordan 2011 made its debut on Nike iD a little over two weeks ago and its arrival on the customization website sent shock waves through the sneaker world. Many were excited to create a pair of shoes from the Air Jordan signature line in their own image including the staff at Nike Harajuku. Among the pairs they created were the Air Jordan 2011 ‘Cool Grey’, a Boston Celtics colorway similar to the ones Ray Allen will wear in NBA Jam and a ‘USA’ pair. This October, NBA Jam will see another sequel in the On Fire Edition and the players won’t be the only thing on fire as there is no shortage of sneaker heat. The colorways featured are a ‘Home’ colorway with an all-white upper with green laces and Jumpman logo as well as an ‘Away’ version with a black upper with a green mudguard. It looks like EA Sports made these on Nike iD and thought they were cool enough to put in the video game. Today will mark the first day in Nike iD history that an Air Jordan model has been available for full customization. Last month, we posted the release date for the upcoming Air Jordan 2011 on Nike iD and today, Jordan Brand has given us a preview of what we can expect in a week. The Air Jordan 2011 is the second Air Jordan signature shoe to be on iD with the Air Jordan 2010 being the first. They will drop on Monday, August 16th and the options available range from the translucent outsole to the patent leather upper.
